Drawing tools let you mark up your chart: trendlines, levels, zones, notes. They live in a toolbar down the left side of the chart, grouped by type.
The groups
Cursor. Normal pointer, for selecting and moving things.
Line tools. Trendline, vertical line (a full-height time marker), and ray line (a line that extends forever past its second point).
Fib tools. Fibonacci tools, including the trend-based Fib extension (a 3-point Fibonacci projection).
Forecasting. The Long / Short position tool (covered in its own article), and price range, which measures a region and shows the price change, percent, and number of ticks.
Text and notes. Free text on the chart, or text inside a tinted box.
Magnet. Snapping, covered in its own article.
Clear. Removes drawings.
Drawing and editing
Hover a tool button to get a small chevron, then click it to open that tool's options (line style, fib type, and so on). No double-click needed.
Hold Shift while drawing or dragging a trendline to snap it to a straight angle: horizontal, vertical, or 45 degrees.
Double-click any text or note to edit it where it sits, with color and font-size controls.
Each tool remembers your last style, color, and size.
Escape cancels a drawing in progress, puts the active tool away, or deletes a selected drawing.
Your drawings follow you across timeframes
A drawing you make on one timeframe shows correctly on the others. Draw a trendline on the 4-hour, switch to the 1-minute, and it is still there in the right place, because each drawing point is anchored to both a bar and a timestamp.
