Every account carries a status that tells you where it stands. You will see it on the accounts grid in Trading Accounts, and on the account detail sheet.
The statuses
In progress. The account is live and you are trading it.
Passed. An evaluation that met its profit target and cleared every other condition.
Failed. The account breached a terminal limit, or your firm ended it.
Inactive. The account is not currently tradeable. A newly created account you have not traded yet sits here, and so does one that has run past its duration.
An evaluation only starts when you trade
A new evaluation does not begin the moment your firm creates it or the moment you redeem the key. It starts on your first order. Until then it sits waiting, and any duration your firm attached has not begun counting.
This matters if your account has a time limit: redeeming early costs you nothing, so there is no reason to delay connecting it.
How an evaluation passes
Reaching your profit target is necessary but not sufficient. Three things have to line up:
You have hit the profit target.
You are flat. An account does not pass while a position is still open.
Consistency is satisfied, if your firm uses it.
If you have hit your target and the account has not flipped to passed, one of the other two is the reason. Close your positions first, then check the consistency detail on the account detail sheet.
How an account fails
Breaching max loss or max drawdown ends the account immediately: positions are closed, working orders are cancelled and the status changes to failed.
Breaching a daily limit does not do this. That locks the account for the rest of the trading day and lifts at the next session.
Funded accounts work differently
A sim funded account never passes and never completes on a profit target, because there is nothing left to prove. Instead your firm executes payouts against its balance, and the account keeps running.
Resets
An evaluation can be reset back to its starting balance, but that is your firm's decision and their action, not something you do in the app. Ask them.
