Mouse-click trading

Place orders straight from the chart. Left-click buys, right-click sells, at the price under your cursor.

Mouse-click trading lets you place an order directly on the chart at the price your cursor is pointing at, instead of typing it into the panel. It is fast once you know what each click does.

What each click does

  • Left-click buys. Right-click sells. The order is placed at the price under your cursor.

  • The order type is chosen for you, based on where you click relative to the current price. A limit goes below the market, a stop goes above it (and the reverse for sells). This matches how those order types are normally used.

  • The crosshair shows your sides while it is armed: Buy on the left, Sell on the right, so you can see what each click will do before you commit.

Quantity shortcuts

The right-click order menu includes quick quantity shortcuts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10. So you can set your size and place the order without going back to the panel.

Good to know

The first click places the order at the crosshair price, not at the market. So you are placing a resting order at the level you clicked, not buying or selling instantly, unless you use a market order.
